That is not entirely true. There are several U.S. journalists that have written about the Brits. Michael Yon has devoted extensive time on the ground with British Soldiers and written many dispatches about them and holds the British Soldier in the highest regard.
And by the comments to those articles it appears that there is much admiration and thanks from the general American public.

I have one gripe though. Although I suppose he thinks that he is being very ‘fair’ by travelling with the US Marines, but as a long time Brit resident of the USA, I notice US news media almost never mention British forces or send their reporters to see what the British are doing in Helmand province or elsewhere. I think the US could not care less about the British contribution. We are lumped together with NATO and ignored. We should start ignoring the US back.
