In idle moments I do wonder what would happen if history was very different and an Iraqi President was visiting the U.S. after having invaded the country a few years earlier on trumped up talk of WOMD. How would American journalists react at a “surprise” visit from an Iraqi president in that situation? I suspect they’d be a tad tougher on him than al-Zeidi was with his shoes.
