I am pursuing the Hazara Kuchi dispute issue for a permanent solution
Kindly e mail me with your thought and possible way of solving this problem between the two brothers who lived side by side through out the history of Afghanistan.

It is important to mention that in the 34 provinces of Afghanistan there lives Hazara and Kuchis. This problem in Behsud could spread through all provinces of Afghanistan and this could turn in to an ugly situation beyond the Afghan government control unless it is resolved at its grassrouts.

Many thanks for writing this very good story, on an important issue which have mostly gone uncovered. I am an Afghan working for the Crisis States Research Centre of the LSE. It would be great if I could meet you sometimes here in Kabul. Please call me on this number if you are available in Kabul: 0799 301 434

The Hazara people are often discriminated against by the Government and by the political powers in Afghanistan. The fact of the matter is Behsud and Dai Mirdad are apart of Hazaristan, the Kuchis came there and began to fight. It begs the question, why do they not go to Sayedabad, Jalrez, Jighatu or Maidan, that they wish to oppress the innocent Muslim people of Behsud. Recently, the Taleban commander that kidnapped German engineers including executing one, was killed in a Kuchi encampment not far from Behsud. What begs the question also is why do the Kuchis have access to guns let alone rocket propelled grenades, and Soviet anti-aircraft weaponry (PKM) and heavy arms?

To give you an idea of some of the rumors the brothers in Behsud were alluding to, here is a picture captured by an AFP photographer demonstrating a French ISAF soldier escorting Kuchis through Behsud. If you look in the background, the stone work on that pool was meant for village use to clean themselves during ablution. The entire village was forced out, and the Kuchis are using it for their purposes (under the auspices of the very international security force meant to protect peaceful, disarmed peoples).

What is the solution? The Hazaras believe Karzai is against them, the Taleban is against them, the armed Kuchis that roam throughout Afghanistan unchallenged for carrying AK47, PKM, and RPG weapons (to protect their flocks?), and now even the very international forces the Hazaras were the most positive to have seem to be against them?

I hope that the Hazaras do not turn to re-arming themselves and give up democracy, but I can’t hold it against them. Force and brutality, apparently, is the only language the people in power seem to understand.

Wal ahamdulillahi rabil alamin.

Here, we are facing a dispute between two ethnolanguistic
groups (who were made by foriegn hands) performing very
cruel acts against each other (you remember the harsh stories
of Hizbe Wahdat during Mujahedeen time in Kabul led by this
Mohaqqeq).
And u know that their punishment by Karzai was: highest
rank in Govt.
As a wise man you have to listen to both sides and than making
a judgement.
Such one sided reports will increase the hate of Kauchiz
against not only you, but Afghan poppet Govt. and even
international community.

Best Regards

Nice writing, brother – I think you have covered much of Hazaras and Kuchis story. There are other fundamental problems in Afghanistan which need to be covered. The only concern I have that you always write in support of Hazaras, which is unfair. Please consider the other aspect of the issue.

I believe we will be very thankful to you if you can talk about those problems rather than sticking to one story that has many different political angles and no one really cares about it in Afghanistan.

Thank you,

Sher Asad
